Philadelphia is not a city that typically brings agriculture to the front of people's minds. However, there is a bustling agricultural community within the city working to create an independent market for healthy, naturally grown food. Throughout Philadelphia there are people providing produce for their neighbors who might otherwise not have access to fresh fruits and vegetables. They are changing the physical and cultural landscape around them, creating community centers and transitioning the grays of the city into the greens of nature and the earth. If you find yourself in a greener, healthier Philadelphia someday, the Farm Philadelphia project by Temple University's Photojournalism class of 2014 can help you know who you can thank.
